By joining a Virtual Power Plant, you can share stored solar energy with the grid, earn rewards, and get more value from your solar investment—without lifting a finger.
Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) are transforming how solar and battery systems operate by connecting multiple homes and businesses into a shared energy network. In NSW, homeowners and small businesses with eligible battery systems can receive financial incentives for joining a VPP and allowing their stored energy to support the grid during peak periods.
From 1 July 2025, the incentive amounts you can receive are: up to $550 for a 10 kWh battery or up to $1,500 for a 27 kWh battery.
Get in touch for more information about home batteries and VPPs.
Terms & Conditions
This incentive is provided by the NSW Government. The offer commenced on 1 November 2024, and changed on 1 July 2025.
The incentive is proportional to the usable capacity of the battery in kilowatt-hours (kWh). Larger batteries will receive a larger incentive.
Your system must remain connected and active in the program to receive full benefits.
To qualify for these incentives, you must:
– Have an existing solar system or be purchasing rooftop solar.
– Purchase a new battery.
– Use a certified installer, such as Solahart.
– Meet the requirements for eligible batteries.
